A remarkable piece with such soft and delicate details; the various use of color between the koi and watery background shows a diverse, but also homogeneous environment. This illustration is like something from a [Japanese] tale or myth. The one in the midst of everything appears to have a melancholic expression in his eyes, and yet he does not look sad.
